Family Violence Prevention Education

A SURVIVOR’S STORY Debbie is a mother of two- a super survivor of a 25-year emotional, physical, and economic abusive relationship. After attending a domestic violence prevention education training sponsored by Connections Family Resource Center, Debbie recognized the signs and disclosed the extent of her abusive relationship to her family. With intentional and careful planning and support, Debbie courageously took the steps necessary to leave her abusive husband. Despite almost insurmountable circumstances, Debbie used her faith and embraced the support of family along with Connections Family Resource Center to build a new life for herself and her daughter. Debbie attributes her sustainability and continued success to ongoing empowerment and supportive connections. Today, Debbie is self-sufficient. She spends her spare time volunteering and empowering other woman she meets to live their best life. Debbie is the epitome of resilience, and her story is one of courage and determination. She is confident spirited, and she thrives today knowing that she now has the power to help others.
