Our Vision: A world where kinship caregivers have the resources, support, and empowerment they need to provide nurturing, safe, and stable homes for children. What is Kinship Care? Kinship care involves the nurturing of children by individuals beyond their biological parents. These caregivers encompass grandparents, extended family members, and close family friends, stepping in when biological parents face difficulties. This arrangement often arises when the biological parents are unable to fulfill their caregiving responsibilities for various reasons. KINNECT Kinship (Image of grandfamilies) We offer KINNECT as a support by connecting families to tools and resources that support social emotional development and healthy relationships working to ensure the well-being of both the caregiver and the children in their care. We provide social emotional support to caregivers through our KINNECT monthly support group and our quarterly Community Connect Café. Connections FRC understands the importance of family connection and quality time for families. Through the KINNECT Program new kinship families are provided a “Family Fun Kit” and families with children birth-24 months are provided a “Welcome Baby Box”. Based on availability, kits and boxes are provided to non-registered families with a referral from the regional DFACS-Kinship Navigator.
We offer budgeting resources and financial management tools to help families effectively plan and manage their finances. By providing practical budgeting tips and guidance, we aim to promote financial literacy and empower families to achieve financial stability.
Together, we can navigate challenges and strengthen our bonds. Send us a message to explore how our programs can support your family in building a safer, empowered future.
